Tonights show was my first solo ride after a bit of a holiday planting trees – but that’s another story. Minus a few bloopers the show was a smooth soiree with a diversity of energetic creatives. Lucky Leith FM listeners!

Theatre is creative and creativity is at it’s best when it takes on the perspectives of many. Lung Ha Theatre Company has been going for years involving professional theatre staff and people with learning difficulties in collective writing and production. Lung Has most recent production “Dangerously, Yours” involves more than 20 actors in a story about love and relationships.      Belief, courage, enthusiasm and great networks in the art world have all beeb essential ingredients in the opening of Edinburgh’s newest private gallery – Union.   FFrom exhibiting to selling and advising Union aims to intergrate art, community and the business . Derek Gray is one of a kind – as well as being one of the duo who run what must be one of Edinburgh’s biggest and unique art venues – the Art Complex in St Margaret’s House just along from Meadowbank. The ex-Pensions office block is gradually being converted to house artist studios, dance rehearsal space, a cinema, several galleries and community space. With galleries showing any artist wanting to get on a list the Art Complex is the kind of place you could easily recount to your grandchildren in the “I saw them when they were just a twinkle in the Tate’s eyes..” sort of way. Derek is and continues to be – artist and enduring art administrator. Get with his programme by getting along to Arts Complex – you will be inspired.
